The banknote has orange, yellow, light blue, brown, and green colors throughout on the front. It depicts the mosque of Sultan Qala'un the famous Bahari Mamluk ruler, who ruled Egypt in the period 1279 - 1290 to right of the front. It has a white circle to the left of the front where the water mark is located.

The back is green with areas of color (orange, yellow and brown). The back depicts a scene of a water wheel run by a buffalo to the left and palm trees in the center and again having the white circle where the watermark is located. The front of the note is written in Arabic and English lettering while the back is in Arabic, with only the denomination being in English. The note shows the denomination on both the front and back.
